Calm your Vata

Are you starting to feel a bit chilly?

Winter has finally decided to turn up in Queensland (well winter for us anyway) and the temperature is cooler and the air is dryer. If you feel like you need something warming and nourishing try this lovely Chai Tea - made with warming spices cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, star anise and cloves. For extra nourishing goodness make it with coconut milk and add a little ghee.

Chai Tea

1 Cinnamon stick 2 star anise 3 cardamom pods 2 cloves 1/4 tsp powdered ginger 250ml coconut milk (or whatever milk you like) 1/2 tsp ghee 1 tsp black tea leaves

Crush the spices and add to tea leaves add milk and heat to boiling simmer for 5-10 minutes covered and then strain Sweeten with a little honey if desired
